Ms. Ery's poetry --in loving memory

Curse of an Outsider

Sitting alone

In a crowded room

Lost in the maze of my own mind

Thoughs echo

None of them making much sense

Banished into a corner

With the clock laughing in my face

A deep longing to speak

But a far deeper fear

Forcing me to stay silent

It is the curse of an outsider

And the curse follows me

Through the long parade

Of days that turn to months

And months that turn to years

This darkness falls over me

And all of the beautiful pinks and yellows

Fade into depressingly ugly gray

I am terrified

And I have no one to share this with

It is the curse of an outsider

The name that I have been branded with

For one reason or another

And the reason doesnt matter

For it all holds the same end result

That dark sickening gray

That I see in every direction

Taunting me

Day in and day out

It is the curse of an outsider.
